The chocolate cookie sticks are a tastier twist on classic cookies.
For this recipe I prepared the cookie dough, shaped it into sticks and baked them in the oven. After baking I dipped the base of the cookies in melted chocolate, creating a thin, irresistible coating.
This yields cookies that are crunchy on the outside and slightly soft inside, with that chocolate touch that makes them even more delicious.
They are perfect for an afternoon snack, to accompany a glass of milk or a cup of tea, but also great to make ahead and store in the pantry… if they last long enough!

- 1 3/4 cups 00 flour (or all-purpose flour) (≈220 g)
- 5 tbsp (packed) brown sugar (≈60 g)
- 2 tsp baking powder (≈8 g)
- 7 tbsp butter, cold and cut into pieces (≈100 g)

Steps
To make the chocolate cookie sticks, place the flour, brown sugar and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
Start mixing and add the cold butter cut into pieces and the egg.
Knead and finally add the chocolate chips. Combine the ingredients until you obtain a smooth, compact dough.
Form a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for one hour.
Then take the dough out of the fridge and roll it between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll out to obtain a rectangle about 2–3 mm thick (about 1/16–1/8 inch) and cut into sticks.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 10–12 minutes, until golden.
Once baked, let them cool and then dip the base of each cookie into the melted chocolate. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and allow the chocolate to set. Enjoy!
