Dark chocolate balls are little sweets that are very tasty, easy to make and attractive to present; they will certainly be a great success at your buffets, you’ll keep eating them one after another. These chocolate pralines are also perfect for children’s parties or simply to serve with a good coffee to your guests. You can ask your kids to help preparing them; they will love it and have a lot of fun, as this recipe is ideal for them since it doesn’t require using the stove. You can also prepare them the day before; the longer they stay in the fridge the firmer and more compact they become. If you like, you can place an almond inside each ball and then close the mixture around it to form a ball — you’ll obtain dark chocolate balls with a crunchy center. You can also insert a lollipop stick and wrap them in cling film to make alternative lollipops. I suggest also taking a look at COCONUT BALLS WITHOUT RICOTTA. Ingredients to prepare Dark chocolate balls
- 5.3 oz dark chocolate
- 3 cups dry cookies (crumbled)
- 3.4 oz milk (or plant-based milk)
- 2 2/3 tbsp sunflower oil
- colored sprinkles
How to make Dark chocolate balls
To prepare the dark chocolate balls break the cookies into coarse pieces. You can place the cookies in a strong plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin or meat mallet, or you can turn them into crumbs using a blender if you prefer.
Chop the chocolate into small pieces, put them in a bowl, add the milk and the sunflower oil, then melt the mixture in a double boiler or in the microwave. Stir well until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous mixture.
Add the previously broken cookies and mix everything well. With slightly damp hands, shape the mixture into balls and then roll them in the colored sprinkles.
Place the dark chocolate balls on a plate and, when you have finished shaping them, cover with cling film and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
