CHICKEN BREAST WITH PEAS

Chicken breast with peas is a main course that’s easy to prepare. It already includes the side (peas), and you’ll only dirty one pan! This recipe is light and nutritious, very low in fat and full of flavor. Perfect for those who want to stay in shape, especially now that summer is approaching.

Ingredients for the chicken breast

  • 11 oz chicken breast
  • 11 oz frozen peas (or canned)
  • 6 3/4 fl oz milk
  • 1.8 fl oz dry white wine
  • 6 1/4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic (granulated) (dried)

  • 1 Cutting board
  • Bowls
  • 1 Frying pan

Preparation of the chicken breast

  • Take the chicken breast, clean it by removing fatty parts and any bones, then slice it (1) and set aside. In a bowl place the flour (2), the curry (3), and the black pepper (4).

  • One teaspoon of salt (5), one teaspoon of granulated garlic (6), then mix everything well (7). Take the sliced chicken and dredge it in the seasoned flour, then set aside (8).

  • Meanwhile, put a pan on the heat and add the oil (9). When it’s hot add the floured chicken and brown it well on both sides (10) — a crust should form. Deglaze with the white wine (11) and when the alcohol has evaporated add the peas (12).

  • Season again with salt (13) and pepper (14), then pour in the milk (15), cover with a lid (16) and continue cooking.

  • Cook the chicken breast with peas for about 20 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring often. The sauce that forms should thicken a bit. Our dish is ready!

Notes

If you don’t like curry you can omit it.

Instead of milk you can use vegetable or meat broth.

You can also prepare this using turkey breast instead of chicken breast.

The peas I used are frozen, but canned ones also work well.
