Ingredients for Sweet Yogurt Buns
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or spelt flour)
- 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (Or whatever you prefer)
- 1 packet baking powder (16 g)
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- to taste chocolate chips
Steps for Yogurt Buns
In a large bowl, pour the egg and the sugar. Beat vigorously with a hand whisk until you get a light and foamy mixture.
Add the yogurt and mix well to incorporate it into the mixture.
At this point, start adding the flour in three batches, alternating and mixing.
Add the baking powder along with the last batch of flour.
Knead the dough for a few minutes. Don’t worry: the mixture will be very sticky but workable.
To make handling easier, slightly wet your hands with some cold water. This will prevent the sticky dough from sticking too much.
Take small portions of dough and quickly form smooth balls of about 60-70 grams each.
Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each.
If you want a chocolate version, divide the dough in half after adding the baking powder.
In one of the halves, incorporate a handful of dark chocolate chips. Mix to distribute them evenly.
Proceed to form the balls with the enriched dough as well.
Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring there is space between each bun.
Bake in the preheated static oven at 355°F.
Bake for 13-15 minutes.
Remove the Sweet Yogurt Buns from the oven and let them cool on a rack.
