Tasty yogurt rings, egg-free, a little indulgent treat to fill as you like. Could mine not have chocolate?! The dough is egg-free, fragrant and crumbly; these sweets are ideal to accompany a cup of tea or milk in the morning or to enjoy at snack time. To make the rings more special you can use a fruit or hazelnut yogurt. For the filling you can use white, milk or dark chocolate spread or fruit jam. Here is what you need to make these tasty yogurt rings, egg-free:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour (250 g)
  • 1/2 cup Plain yogurt (125 g)
  • 10.5 tbsp Butter (150 g)
  • 3.2 oz Sugar (90 g)
  • 1 packet Vanillin (vanilla powder)
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • to taste Spreadable cream or jam (for filling)

Preparation

    Place the softened butter cut into pieces in a bowl with the sugar, mix, then add the yogurt, the flour sifted with the baking powder and the vanillin.

  • Work the dough with your hands until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Put it in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.

  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface with a rolling pin, to a sheet not too thin.

  • Cut out many identical rings using a larger and a smaller round cutter or use a special ring mold.

  • Place the rings, little by little, on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for about 10-15 minutes, depending on your oven, until they are golden.

  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a rack, then split each ring in half and fill with the chosen spreadable cream or jam.
