Sandwich Bread and Pancetta Cannoli with Cheese Filling

The sandwich bread and pancetta cannoli with cheese filling are perfect finger food, ideal to serve at the table even as a main course.

Full of flavor, these cannoli are easy to make. Just spread on the slices of sandwich bread a tasty cheese cream made of: spreadable cheese, stracchino and spicy gorgonzola; then roll them up, wrap each roll in a slice of pancetta and bake in the oven.

You will get bites that are crispy on the outside and soft inside, which will disappear in no time!

Ingredients

  • 10 slices Sandwich bread (sliced white bread)
  • 10 slices Pancetta
  • 2.5 oz Cream cheese (spreadable cheese)
  • 1 oz Stracchino cheese
  • 1 oz Spicy gorgonzola

Preparation

  • To make the sandwich bread cannoli, put the cream cheese and the stracchino in a bowl and stir with a spoon until you obtain a creamy mixture.

  • Then add the gorgonzola cut into small cubes and crush it with a fork. Use a spoon to mix the ingredients well until you obtain a compact, homogeneous cream.

  • Take the slices of sandwich bread (without crust) and roll them out with a rolling pin, pressing a little to obtain very thin slices.

  • Spread a little of the prepared cheese cream on each slice and roll each slice up on itself.

  • Then wrap each bread cannolo in a slice of pancetta. Arrange the cannoli on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 356°F for 20 minutes, until the pancetta is crispy. Serve hot and enjoy!
