Ingredients for Catalan-style Shrimp

  • 1.5 lb shrimp
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • to taste extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 sprig parsley
  • to taste salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

How to prepare Pan-Fried Shrimp

  • Clean the shrimp by removing the head first and then the shell. I left only the tail on, but you can peel them completely. Also remove the dark intestinal vein using a toothpick.

  • Rinse them and let them drain. Pour 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and a clove of garlic into a large skillet. Add the cleaned shrimp.

  • Cook over medium heat for 3–4 minutes, turning often with a wooden spoon. Pour in the white wine.

  • Season with salt and let cook over low heat for 4–5 minutes with the pan covered. Finish the Pan-Fried Shrimp with a chopped sprig of parsley and a pinch of pepper.
