Ingredients

For the Meat and Spinach Roll

  • 1.1 lbs ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 3.5 oz diced bacon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp grated Pecorino cheese
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 10.5 oz cooked and boiled spinach
  • 8.8 oz Tuma cheese

Tools

  • Bowl
  • Parchment paper
  • Loaf pan plumcake

Steps

To make the Meat and Spinach Roll

  • First, take a large bowl and put all the ground beef inside along with the egg, bacon, salt, Pecorino cheese, and breadcrumbs.

  • Proceed by kneading everything by hand until all the ingredients are well combined. Once finished, move all the mixture onto a rectangular sheet of parchment paper.

  • Next, flatten the meat with your hands forming a rectangle following the dimensions of the parchment paper. At this point, place the filling of cooked and well-drained spinach and slices of Tuma cheese in the center.

  • Continue by forming the roll, then bring the outer edge of the parchment paper forward, rolling everything together. Compress it well with your hands and place the roll into a loaf pan.

  • To finish, cook in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes. At the end of cooking, remove the pan and let it rest for 10 minutes. Finally, take out the roll and cut it into slices to serve it on a plate together with your favorite side dish!

Tip!

Cook the spinach a few hours before and once cooled, squeeze them well with your hands to remove all excess water.
