Preparation of the Watermelon and Prosecco Aperitif Drink
For this tasty watermelon-based drink, remove the seeds from a large, ripe, red slice of watermelon.
Put all the fruit pieces directly into a pitcher and with an immersion blender blend everything well until you have about two-thirds of the pitcher filled with watermelon pulp and juice.
Add the remaining third of good Prosecco.
Now stir the pulpy liquid obtained well with a spoon.
Take the chosen glasses, pour in the aperitif and add a generous spoon of crushed ice!
If you don’t have a machine to crush it, do it like our grandmothers… put the ice cubes in a dish towel, close it and with a meat mallet crush them into small pieces which you will then pour into the serving glass, perhaps decorating it with a slice of watermelon.
It’s very tasty and refreshing!!
Enjoy your summer watermelon and prosecco aperitif!Annalisa

Can I use melon instead of watermelon?
Yes, melon is also excellent and gives a more delicate and fragrant flavor.
Should it be served cold?
Absolutely yes; it is much better well chilled. Keep the ingredients in the refrigerator before preparing it.
Do I need to strain the watermelon?
It depends on the result you want to achieve: strained it will be smoother and more refined, unstrained it will be fuller-bodied and more natural.
Which prosecco should I use?
Better a brut or extra dry prosecco, fresh and light.
