Ingredients
- cups strawberries
- 1/3 cup sugar
- Half lemon
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 cup milk

Prepare the strawberries
Clean and slice the strawberries.
Put them in a small saucepan with the sugar and lemon juice.
Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Let cool completely.
Make the cream
In a saucepan put the egg yolks, sugar and cornstarch and mix.
Add the milk little by little, mixing well.
Add the lemon zest and place over the heat until the cream thickens.
Keep stirring. Once thickened transfer it to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface and let cool.
Prepare the batter
In a bowl beat the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
Add the oil and milk
Add the vanilla and mix.
Fold in the flour and baking powder gently.
Assemble the cake
