Today we present in our kitchen the Savory Pie with Green Beans and Carrots, a simple and tasty recipe. Having many vegetables in the garden, we created this variant because, as you know, savory pies are varied with many ingredients of your choice. A delicious side dish to serve at the table on any occasion, also considered a main dish, great for a family lunch or dinner or for a buffet with friends. An ideal recipe also for a vegetarian diet. Prepare the ingredients and get to work! There are many varieties of green beans available in the market, including green, yellow, and purple green beans. For this recipe, we chose yellow green beans.

Ingredients for Savory Pie with Green Beans and Carrots

  • 7 oz green beans
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 rolls puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup cooking cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 oz grated Parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon basil (in powder)
  • 1 pinch fine salt

Steps for Savory Pie with Green Beans and Carrots

  • Clean the green beans by removing both ends, pulling outward to remove the annoying string.

    Peel and wash the carrots.

    Boil the vegetables for about 10 minutes, drain, and let cool, then cut the two vegetables into pieces.

    In a container, break the eggs, add the cream and Parmesan, and mix with a hand whisk.

    Add the teaspoon of powdered basil (you can substitute basil with herbs of your choice) and a pinch of fine salt. Mix the mixture again.

  • Unroll the puff pastry, prick it, insert the ingredients, and cover with the second roll of pastry.

    Bake for about 15 minutes at 356°F
