Are you familiar with sushi? Of course, you are! (I’d say). So, we’re sure that at least once in your life, you’ve seen the famous “osomaki”, the renowned sushi rolls prepared with rice and an ingredient in the center, finally wrapped on the outside with nori seaweed sheets, the subject of this recipe.
Despite the almost exclusive use this ingredient has in sushi preparation, it can also be used for other purposes. For example, in Japan, it is common to add some nori seaweed sheets to ramen.
In this recipe, however, I made a delicious and very easy-to-make little salad perfect for accompanying oriental dishes like gyoza, sushi, and stir-fried ramen. Follow along with me through the few steps below!

Ingredients
For the nori seaweed salad
- 3 sheets nori seaweed
- 1 tablespoon sushi seasoning
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- to taste sesame seeds

Steps
To make the nori seaweed salad
First, take a sheet of nori seaweed and use a pair of scissors to cut it into strips about 1 cm (3/8 inch) wide. Perform the same operation until you have all the needed sheets, which you will place in a bowl.
Next, take a tablespoon of sushi seasoning and pour it into the bowl with the seaweed strips. At this point, gently mix with tongs or chopsticks so that the seaweed absorbs the liquid.
To finish, add a teaspoon of sesame oil and continue mixing until the seaweed is fully moistened.
Finally, transfer the seaweed to a small bowl and garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving.
Tip
After preparation, store in the fridge and consume the nori seaweed salad at the appropriate time.

To prepare it, simply combine a tablespoon of rice vinegar with a teaspoon of sugar, which must be completely dissolved before using.
