The Puff Pastry Tart with Jam and Apples is a dessert in which the crispness of puff pastry contrasts with the softness of the jam and the apples. It’s the last-minute dessert, beautiful to look at, very quick to prepare and able to release that enticing aroma that makes everyone agree immediately. The harmonious contrast between the flakiness of the pastry and the softness of the jam and apples will make this indulgent dessert. For the filling I used a generous layer of quince jam that I had prepared earlier, but you can use any other jam, such as apricot or peach. Finally, the apples sliced thinly create a very pleasing decorative topping. I used Red Delicious apples to give an extra touch of color, but Golden and Reinette apples also work well. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or some raisins if you like.

Method for the Puff Pastry Tart with Jam and Apples
Preheat the oven to 392°F and, while it heats, start preparing the Puff Pastry Tart with Jam and Apples.
Wash the apples well, dry them and cut them in half. Remove the core, taking care not to break them.
Slice them into pieces all of the same thickness and place them on a plate. Now take care of the puff pastry, which should be taken out of the fridge at the last moment.
The thermal shock that the cold pastry will undergo when it meets the oven heat will help it puff up nicely.
Unroll the pastry onto the oven tray, leaving it on its original baking paper.
Using a flat plate or a lid slightly smaller than the diameter of the pastry, place it on the base and press lightly to leave the outline of its circumference.
Now, with a sharp, straight-edged knife, cut strips about 3/4 inch wide all around from the mark left by the plate or lid to the outer edge.
To create the braid, simply turn these little strips: one to the right and the next to the left, overlapping them over each other until all are used.
Spread the jam over the entire inside of the braid; if the jam is very thick, thin it with a little hot water.
Arrange the apple slices all around, overlapping them halfway and fill the central hole with small pieces.
Sprinkle the fruit with granulated sugar and bake for about 30 minutes at 392°F. Time and temperature are indicative, as every oven runs differently, so adjust according to your appliance.
Remove the tart from the oven and set it aside for a moment. Soften the honey by placing it for a few minutes in the turned-off oven, then brush it while warm over the entire tart.
This operation will give you a golden, glossy tart.
I hope you enjoy this easy, quick and impressive dessert. Enjoy!
