Today I offer you one of my signature dishes, the recipe for the walnut and chocolate cake.
My boyfriend calls it the “bastard cake” because you start by eating a small piece and end up devouring the whole thing.
It’s a very tasty and distinctive dessert; when it comes out of the oven, this cake will perfume your kitchen and you’ll want to eat it immediately.
It’s simple and quick to make and you’ll surely make a great impression. I believe that simple desserts are the best because they are full of flavor.
If you like the combination of walnuts and chocolate, this cake is made just for you!

Preparation
To make the walnut and chocolate cake, in a large bowl melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler, remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and the melted butter.
Separate the yolks from the whites and add the yolks, one at a time, to the chocolate mixture. Then add the flour and the coarsely chopped walnuts, reserving a few walnut halves for the final decoration.
Fold in the baking powder and the egg whites beaten to stiff peaks, mixing with an upward motion.
Line a pan (Ø 9.5 in) with parchment paper and pour in the batter, level it well and decorate with the reserved walnut halves and the chocolate shavings.
Bake in a preheated oven at 338°F for about half an hour, perform the toothpick test. Let it cool and then serve with a dusting of powdered sugar. Enjoy!
