in ,

Spaghetti with King Prawns is a first course that smells of the sea and of goodness. Today I’m here to tell you the recipe to prepare a first course with king prawns and cherry tomatoes. I used spaghetti, which is a pasta shape I adore, but if you prefer you can also use another pasta shape, long or short. With the same recipe you can replace the king prawns with shrimp or scampi, fresh or frozen. What do you say, have I convinced you? Let’s head to the kitchen and prepare together my Pasta with king prawns and cherry tomatoes

INGREDIENTS FOR SPAGHETTI WITH KING PRAWNS

  • 11 oz spaghetti
  • 1.1 lbs king prawns
  • 1 2/3 cups cherry tomatoes
  • as needed extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • as needed salt
  • 1 pinch pepper

HOW TO PREPARE PASTA WITH PRAWNS

  • Wash the king prawns and clean them by removing the head and the little legs, the shell and the black intestinal vein using a toothpick. I prefer to leave a few prawns with the shell on to decorate the plate. Pour into a large skillet 3-4 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil and one clove of garlic.

  • Add the prawns to the skillet and let them sauté for 2 minutes over medium heat, turning with a wooden spoon. Add to the skillet the washed cherry tomatoes cut into 2-4 pieces depending on their size.

  • Season with salt and cover the skillet with a lid. Let the sauce cook for about 10 minutes over low heat. At the end of cooking add a pinch of pepper and chopped parsley.

  • Cook the spaghetti in plenty of salted water for about 8-10 minutes or for the time indicated on the package of the pasta you use. Drain the pasta al dente, reserving a little of the cooking water. Toss the spaghetti into the skillet with the sauce, adding a few tablespoons of the cooking water. Mix well.
