For many years now, I have enjoyed preparing and obviously consuming Brussels sprouts. I love them because, aside from being small and delightful, they offer a truly pleasant taste, especially to vegetable lovers.
As I mentioned, I like to eat them often, and my favorite way is when I use them as a side dish next to fish, meat, or chicken. They cook very simply, and now I’ll show you how to achieve a great result.
In this very simple recipe, I used only 2 main ingredients, namely the Brussels sprouts and onion, which adds sweetness to create a delicious dish full of flavor. The cooking should be done on medium heat in a pot with a lid to allow the sprouts to soften well!

Steps
To make Braised Brussels Sprouts
Start by removing the base from each sprout with a knife. Also, remove a few outer leaves, the darker ones, and place them all in a colander. At this point, rinse them under running water for 1 minute.
Next, take an onion, peel it, and cut it in half. Continue by chopping it with a knife or use a vegetable chopper. Then heat a generous amount of oil in a casserole and sauté the onion for a few minutes.
To finish, add the sprouts to the pan and season with salt. Stir well and let cook over medium-low heat with the lid on for about 25 minutes. Occasionally check by stirring the sprouts until they are well cooked and soft.
Finally, turn off the heat and pour the braised sprouts into a bowl before serving them at the table!
Tip!
You can also opt for a sweet and sour dressing by adding vinegar and sugar during cooking.
