Today I made a simple and tasty savory puff pastry rustic with zucchini, cooked ham and melted provola. Perfect for dinner, aperitifs or buffets: it takes little time to prepare and wins everyone over at the first bite. I used my air fryer, but you can easily use the oven or microwave. You’ll see this rustic will save many dinners, just like it does for me. There’s always a roll of puff pastry in my fridge. And when it isn’t, there’s no problem because making my basic savory pie dough takes just a moment.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet rectangular puff pastry sheet
- 1 zucchini
- 3.5 oz cooked ham
- 3.5 oz provola, sliced
- 1 egg (for brushing)
Tools
- Air fryer
Steps
Open the puff pastry roll, leaving the baking paper in place.
Place the ham and the zucchini in the center (the zucchini cooked with oil and salt in the air fryer for 5 minutes) — grilled zucchini work well too. Add the provola.
Cut the edges into thin strips and close the rustic by alternating (braiding) the strips.
Brush with beaten egg and cook for 20 minutes at 374°F, turning it halfway through.
