If you’re looking for a quick, irresistible snack, these breaded mozzarella bites in the air fryer I’m sharing today are an irresistible treat: crispy outside, gooey inside, and ready in minutes without switching on the oven or frying in a pan!
I decided to make them with a special coating based on cornflakes, a pinch of paprika and a pinch of garlic powder, which give a tasty and intriguing note that pairs perfectly with mozzarella.
They’re ideal to serve as a tasty appetizer, on buffets, or even for a quick, different dinner.
And the great thing is that you only need a few ingredients and a bit of patience to bread them properly… but the result is worth every second!
You can serve them with classic ketchup or barbecue sauce, or even with a light yogurt-based dip.
They can be prepared in advance and reheated in a few minutes, keeping their crispiness even the next day.
A TIP… try them also using smoked mozzarella for a stronger flavor!

Still in the mood for tasty appetizers? Here are more suggestions just below:
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Budget-friendly
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Cooking time: 8 Minutes
- Portions: 4 Servings
- Cooking methods: Air fryer
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 7 oz small mozzarella balls (already drained)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups unsweetened cornflakes, crushed
- 1/8 tsp sweet paprika
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- to taste salt
- to taste black pepper
- to taste chopped parsley
Tools
- Air fryers
- Bowls
Let’s prepare this tasty, crunchy snack together
First of all, dry the mozzarella balls very well with kitchen paper and place them in the freezer for 15–20 minutes: this firms them up so they won’t release liquid during cooking.
Now place 3 small bowls on the work surface:
• one with the flour
• one with the beaten egg, salt and pepper
• one with the crushed cornflakes, the paprika, the garlic powder and the chopped parsley. Now coat each bite first in the flour, then in the egg, and finally in the cornflakes breading. Try to press well so the coating adheres.
Then arrange the mozzarella balls on parchment paper, spray with a little cooking spray and cook in the air fryer at 392°F for 7–8 minutes or until golden.
These breaded mozzarella bites in the air fryer are so tasty… one leads to another just like cherries!
Enjoy your meal and happy cooking!

Quick tips
📍Can they be prepared in advance?
Yes, of course! Bread them first, keep them in the refrigerator and then cook them when needed.
📍Can they be frozen?
You can, but better to freeze them raw already breaded, not cooked.
📍What sauce to pair?
These go great with ketchup, herb yogurt, barbecue sauce, or a light mayonnaise.
