When it comes to meatballs, no one can resist such a temptation. The reason is often that these delicious bites are seasoned in various ways. Sometimes even in a soup, perhaps during the cold season.

In this recipe, I propose fairly simple meatballs, prepared with seasoned ground beef and then stuffed withcaciocavallo” cheese inside. Thanks to this choice, you’ll get delicious balls with a melting heart that are easy to make. Another advantage is that it takes little time to create them.

Therefore, they are excellent for any occasion, for lunch or dinner, or perhaps for some special occasion! Certainly, with these meatballs, you’ll gain approval from your guests or family by bringing an excellent alternative to the table!

Ingredients

For about 12 Cheese-Stuffed Meatballs

  • 1 lbs ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons grated Grana Padano
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chives
  • 1 tablespoon breadcrumbs
  • 1 pat butter
  • 5.3 oz caciocavallo cheese

Tools

  • Pan
  • Bowl

Steps

To make the Cheese-Stuffed Meatballs

  • First, take a large enough bowl and put all the ground beef inside. Add the egg, the Grana Padano, the salt, the chives, the breadcrumbs, and the oil.

  • Then knead everything with your hands for a few minutes until you achieve a uniform mixture with all the ingredients well distributed.

  • Once you’ve created the mixture, cut the caciocavallo cheese into cubes by first slicing it into strips, then forming small squares.

  • At this point, take a portion of ground beef from the bowl and form a ball. Then create a hole in the center of the ball with your thumb and insert a cheese cube inside.

  • Proceed to close the meatball by fully covering the cheese. Continue in the same way to make all the other meatballs until you run out of ingredients.

  • For cooking, take a large pan and heat a pat of butter over medium heat. Once it reaches the temperature, brown the meatballs for about 5 minutes until they are seared.

  • To finish, lower the heat and let them cook with the lid on for about 15 minutes. Occasionally move the meatballs until the end of cooking. Do not worry if the cheese slightly oozes out of the meatballs, you can use this “sauce” as a final garnish.

  • Finally, turn off the heat and place the stuffed meatballs on a plate with your favorite side dish. For example, I chose roasted potatoes!

Tip!

Make the meatballs not too large to avoid them being raw inside.
