Steps
To make the Homemade Russian Salad
Start by washing and drying the potatoes and carrots, then peel both and cut them into sticks. To ease the task, you can use a vegetable cutter suitable for this purpose.
Then cut the sticks into pieces to get typical cubes for the preparation of Russian salad.
At this point, steam the potatoes with the carrots and peas for about 35 minutes. At the end of cooking, make sure all the vegetables are well cooked.
Next, take a large bowl and put all the cooked vegetables inside, then prepare for the final steps.
To complete, add a teaspoon of salt, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1 3/4 cups of homemade mayonnaise (recipe here).
Finally, gently mix everything with a silicone spatula and place your salad in a smaller bowl before serving.
Tip!
Russian salad can be eaten warm, but it is even better cold! You can store it in the fridge for about 3 days in an airtight container.
