Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- Half packet baking powder (about 2 tsp)
- vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 6 tbsp butter
- as needed Nutella®
Preparation
Prepare the soft centers for the muffins by forming 8 small mounds of Nutella about the size of a walnut. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper and put them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes, until completely hardened.
Meanwhile, sift the flour together with the baking powder and place them in a bowl with the salt and sugar, then mix.
Melt the butter in a double boiler or in the microwave and let it cool slightly.
In another bowl, lightly beat the egg with a fork, add the vanilla extract, the milk and the melted butter, then combine everything.
Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients, little by little, stirring gently until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous batter.
Line the muffin tin with paper liners (or butter and flour the molds). Spoon about 2 tablespoons of batter into each liner.
Place a frozen Nutella ball in the center of each and cover with more batter, leaving about 3/8 in (approx. 1 cm) from the edge.
Bake in a preheated conventional oven (no fan) at 392°F for 15-20 minutes, until golden.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let the Nutella-stuffed muffins cool. Transfer them to a serving platter and, if desired, dust the surface with powdered sugar before serving.
Enjoy and… see you next recipe!
