Preparation
Wash the lemons and dry them with a kitchen towel. Use a peeler to peel two of the lemons and set the thin peels aside.
Then squeeze all four lemons with a citrus juicer. Strain the juice obtained and place it in a small saucepan.
Add the peeled lemon rinds and the sugar to the saucepan. Put it on the heat and use a spoon to dissolve the sugar well. Then cool it in the refrigerator for about ten minutes.
In a pitcher combine the lemon syrup and a pinch of baking soda with the sparkling water and mix. Finally, serve the homemade fizzy lemon soda cold, garnished with a lemon peel.

I recommend drinking the homemade fizzy lemon soda at room temperature and sipping it slowly — you will appreciate the flavor and aroma even more. With an amount of eight teaspoons of sugar and one lemon per person the drink is just right (not too sweet); if you prefer it sweeter, add another teaspoon. Serve the “Lemonsoda” cold and garnish with the lemon peels. If you like, you can keep the pitcher in the fridge for half an hour before serving, but be careful: in summer it’s best not to overdo very cold drinks as they can cause issues for our health. You can dilute it with more water if it tastes too sharp or too lemony to your palate.
